Survival by Barnett
A survivor is someone who has the ability to survive, whether it is in an urban
environment or out in the wild. To survive in the wild it is best to be
prepared. You will most likely not survive if you are not prepared. To be
prepared, you need a survival kit; because without it, you will most likely
perish. In some cases, people do make it out alive without a survival kit. The
top 5 things to include in a large survival kit are:#1. Knife;#2. Water/Water
container;#3. A Firestarter; #4. First Aid kit; #5. Blanket/Poncho/Something to
keep you warm. If you do not have a survival kit or a knife, you can improvise.
(Example: If you do not have a knife, you can use stone blades. And use the
stone blades as a knife.) Improving and improvising are key words to a survivor.
In urban survival you have many things around you to Improve and Improvise.
One skill that everyone should know how to do is fire starting, whether it is
by bow drill, flint and steel, etc. In the wild or in an urban environment you
will not always survive without a fire. Fire has many uses such as: cooking,
heat, hardening wooden arrows, melting pitch from a tree to put on a wound, etc.
Although these are all great, the biggest key to survival is God.
