Survival Medicine and Emergency Treatment by Steve A.
Who is really prepared for a disaster/terrorist attack or even an emergency in a remote location , if you carried everything needed to deal with every type of emergency that could occur you would need a large SUV just for your medical supplies, going back to basics, the Red Cross has one of the better lists of contents.

Additional items may be added to personalize or customize this kit. I also add a sam splint http://www.sammedical.com/sam_splint.html and water purification tabs, this is my basic first aid kit that I carry in my Bug Out Box in my SUV, but what happens when there is a total collapse of our day to day world, no doctors/paramedic to call, where are you going to get antibiotics, pain meds? If you have a Dr who believes in being prepared(not likely) he would give you a prescription for antibiotics to keep stored and instructions on what to use them for, if worse case, vet offices, online med supply, I am a retired
Firefighter/Paramedic and try to keep myself prepared. Another great source of trauma bags and medical supplies is http://www.galls.com. Be safe and stock up.

Good points…I carry a platoon sized first aid kit myself, with many extras for the “just in case” times. I score you an 8.
Honey and garlic are also great antibotics. Yarrow good to stop bleeding. Lots of Medical plants out there for everything. I’ll give u a 7.
