I went on a semi-survival trip on the French desert corral ring of Clipperton Dec 2011/Jan 2012. No fresh water there. Plan A was getting it through evaporation. Plan B was using purifying pills and the filtering straw. Plan C was relying on some emergency drinking individual packets. I don't know about you but I cannot really function well without water!
