Fire Sticks

Coghlan's Fire SticksThese fire sticks will light even when wet. They are non-toxic, odorless, and light after being submerged in water. An emergency source of heat, light, and useful as a flare. Twelve 5'' sticks to a package.

Waterproof fire sticks are great for lighting barbeques, campfires, and fire places. They fit right in your backpack so they are available whenever you need them.

Firesticks are great for lighting your kindling and get a good fire going quickly. If you're cold and wet, you'll want a fire started as quickly as possible. These fire sticks do the job.

I've used these fire sticks for years starting a fire in our backyard fire pit. Gets your kindling going without a worry so you can add your increasingly larger pieces of regular wood as fuel. Each firestick stays lit for about eleven minutes allowing plenty of time to get the fire going even for novice fire starters.

At $1.75 per 12 pack, that's 15 cents per fire. Break them in half and double the value (and number of fires). As an emergency fire starting method, you can certainly afford to add these to your survival kit or backpack. For a quick warm up of food or water*, you don't have to go through the hassle of starting a complete fire in order to do so. You can light a stick, heat your food or drink and continue to move.

*(purifying water requires you to bring it to a boil)
