- (1) HD Thermal Blanket - Rugged, heavy duty thermal blanket for emergency use. Also use for overhead shelter or ground cover.
Fire Starting (as a top priority, you have the means to get yourself comfortable and warm.)
- (1) Spark-Lite™ Fire Starter - waterproof military fire starter, tested for over 1,000 sparks. Includes 4 Tinder-Quick emergency tinders. This is what you use to light your first fire.
- (1) Windproof Matches - Strong flame stands up to the wind - Waterproof. 1 box of 20. Conserve matches if you can.
- (1) Emergency Tinder - Safe, sure emergency fire starting. Catches fire with any spark. - Tinder lights even when wet. After gathering kindling and larger pieces of wood, use the emergency tinder to ignite kindling. Add larger pieces of fuel (wood) as the fire can handle it.
- (1) Fire Sticks - 12 sticks - emergency source of heat, light, and tinder. These are excellent kindling starters. Nearly ten minutes each stick of hot flame to catch your wood on fire.
- (1) Magnesium Fire Starter Uses magnesium as flame source of 5400° F. One fire starter provides sufficient shavings to start dozens of fires. Shave magnesium and then create a large shower of sparks all-in-one tool. Your emergency back-up.

Sustenance
- (6) Water Packets 4.224 ounces (125 ml) each - 5 Year Shelf Life. This is just a start. If you're out for many days, you will need to find water.
- (1) Emergency Food Bars - 3 days, 1 person, 5 Year Shelf Life - non-thirst provoking. Enough calories for three days minimum sustainment. Hard work will increase your requirements.
Equipment
- (1) Button Compass - Included in SOL Pak. Necessary for accurate navigation.
- (1) Folding Shovel - dig fire pit, trench around shelter; includes a hand saw. HD quality.
- (1) Work Gloves - Clearing brush, cutting branches, gathering bedding material, digging or sawing. Protect your only hands.
- (1) Wire Saw - Cuts wood, bone, plastic. Straps, not rings for holding.
- (1) Jumbo Sierra Cup - 14oz metal cup for gathering, boiling water, cooking. If you started with nothing, you'll be glad you have this. Use as improvised shovel.
- (1) 550 Cord - 50 Foot length; 7 inner strands; numerous field uses. snaring, fishing, lashing.
- (6) Chem Light - 12 hour light stick. That's 3 nights of having a light.
- (1) Candle - Takes bite out of the cold. Provides light. Increases temperature.
- (1) Watertight Match Box - Keeps matches dry - Watertight. Pack with other gear. Tinder, strike plate for match box cover; good container, waterproof.
- (1) Backpackers Sewing Kit - to repair clothing.
- (1) Multi Tool Coghlan's Campers Tool - 15 function. Lots of functionality for a knife. Useful pliers. This is not a $100 multi-tool but should last through an emergency.
- (1) 100' Trip Wire/Snare Wire - secure a shelter, many lashing uses, snaring. Set out many snares for optimum food procurement.
- (1) Backpack. Lots of room, pockets, extra space - meds, eyeglasses, socks, hat, extra batteries for light.
